Default Motivation Day - Albq

Jan & I had the pleasure of meeting Lloyd Gimple down in Albuquerque, NM a few Saturdays ago. Lloyd was a great guy and graciously allowed me and Jan to pester him with questions for several hours. I worked hard at trying not to drool but I'm sure my drool towel missed some spots. Sorry Lloyd! I'll make it up when you come to Santa Fe!

Our goal was to actually set in a Cozy and try it on for size. I've really been tossing up the fuse widening (not canard or wings).

While there I naturally took some pictures and was waiting to post this until I at least had them posted on one of my web sites. There are no comments yet but the pictures are up at this url:

Talk about motivation! I ordered Chapter 4 & 5, plus epoxy, etc. and am waiting for them to ship. I was so pumped it was difficult to think of the things I was going to ask. It's a good thing jan went along!

Though we didn't fly that day (Lloyd need to do some adjustments) I could tell when I sat in it that the visibility must be incredible!

Lloyd even removed the pins!

Thanks Lloyd!

Bob & Jan

Thanks for sharing the pictures. Looks like a nice plane. Also looks like a nice place to fly.

Bob & Jan,

Thanks for the pics. I really need to make an appointment to go see Lloyd and his plane, since I live only 15 minutes from his hanger. I have been in touch w/ him via e-mail, he sounds like a great guy.

Give me an e-mail and come visit for a bit next time you are in town.

Default Chapter 4 finally

Yeah - this was our first trip out to Double Eagle II. Very impressive and active airport. There's even a good restaurant with great burgers, grilled cheese, etc and a view of the runway.

Living here in Santa Fe, you just can't go out to the airport, walk around and drool. I miss that! The three little peaks you see in on picture are extinct volcanoes that over look the west mesa. To the east lie the Rio Grande, Albq & the Sandia mountains; to the north Santa Fe.

Kraig, I'd love to come down and check out your build. I've only slapped epoxy and fiberglass once with a really good teacher, Mike Pollock, in Dallas. That was several years ago. I'm sure neither of my two remaining brain cells actually retained any of that.

I thought my stuff was going to ship on this coming Monday but Wicks surprised me and it'll arrive today. Naturally, I planned on getting a bunch of stuff done this weekend to be prepared for my chapter delivery by late next week. Already a week behind
