Default Greetings from Houston, TX

Hi all...

Utter newbie here... Don't even know how to fly, but have wanted to for years!

When I saw a canard in the air a couple years back and was able to figure out what in hell it was ( ) I started poking around on the internet... I fell in love with the idea of building one of these and learning to fly (not necessarily in that order!)..

So, I'm here.. Looking.. Learning.. Well, stumbling and fumbling actually.. :-)

I'm in Clear Lake (near Houston)... I go to school at Tx. Chiropractic College.. Anyone else on this list in that area?

-Michael

Yeah, come visit me at Ellington Field....it is only a stones throw from TXCC on Spencer Hwy. I am president of EAA Houston; Chapter 12. We meet at Ellington on the first Wednesday of the month at 1900 hrs (ish).

But, don't wait for the meetings....they are usually business type meetings unless we combine it with an event. Give me a call on my cell at 832-818-CELL (2355) to make arraingments. I work 'til about 1500 hrs (off Mon & Tues) and try to get by the hangar after the gym on most days.....well, most days, SHMBO will let me

Feel free to build a Cozy, it is a fine bird, OR, build a Velocity like most others REALLY want ....if it just wern't for the big lump sum at start-up

I have lived in this part of Houston for 31 years (since the Bi-Centenial) and attended J. Frank Dobie H.S., attended UofH ClearLake for a while B4 law school, worked as Mall Security at Baybrook during school, had my law office at BW-8 and the Gulf Freeway (across from AMC Theaters, near Sagemont Baptist) and am currently working as a Bellaire Cop (wahoo, drive fast, carry a taser and boost testoserone) . So, I am pretty keyed into the area.

Let me know if'n I can be of service.

All the best,

Chris

Waiter.......I couldn't agree more!
Especially considering the Open-EZ project.
Anything else is just a knock-off of the real thing!

I definitely need to get out to Ellington sometime!

I graduate December, 2008. I begin my clinicals in the public clinic in January.

You guys (local to Houston) wouldn't happen to know a flight instructor who works for barter, would you? :-)

Nope, don't know any, they all died from lack of food

Actually, one of our members, Jeff Myers, Phd, is a "double I". He is not current since he is out making a living...however, he and I have discussed barter (he can become current easily by making the time...the time is the hard part). I would provide some estate planning and he would help me get my instrument ticket. The best part is he is willing to instruct in my Velocity.

All the best,

Chris

How about a different type of barter..... He helps you get your ticket, and you don't give him one?

...and in that spirit.

Driver: But Officer, I thought you don't give tickets to pretty women....

Officer (handing her a pad): We don't, sign here!

All the best,

Chris

Have I mentioned how much fun being a Cop too is?????
