IFR - plan on it or just fly local or in the desert!
Will be awhile before I go IFR. Not going to stop me from flying where I want with the right instruments though. I'll just make sure of lots of airports and hotels on the way and plan accordingly. I love low and slow. Soon I'll be low and fast. IFR or VFR, unless you're flying an ultralight (or a Pitts?) put in those antennas. You'll want them anyway.

I was tuning through the History Channel the other night and caught a minute of Burt Rutan talking about the Adam 309. Paraphasing, "with a high speed a/c (Adams 309 cruises at 300 ~1,500 mile range) you don't have to fly through weather, you can fly around weather."

Now the Cozy is not a 300 mph plane (witch maybe the exception of Dust's) but it fast and does offer some of those options. Also with some of the weather options available you can tell weather those holes are going to be there long before you arrive...

Visual satellite, not radar, IR, or WV. The limitation is daylight only (at least for now, some planned satellites may do nighttime visual). Those images are becoming increasingly more available and available wirelessly...

I went ahead and ordered the RST kit.
Well that was 6/18. I've sent off 4 emails trying to find out where it is. Has anyone been in touch with them (RST Engineering) over the last 3 weeks?
Do they close for a holiday or vacation?
I assume they are still in business.

I have the foil and the coax already from Aircraft Spruce. I think I'll just order the torroids and follow the pdf that Marc pointed me at earlier and get on with it. I'm finishing chapter 6 (working on the floor contour) and then it off to chapter 7 ...... if I can just get my antennas installed.

What if they gave me choice between a fast computer or a fast plane?
