Default Oshkosh 2007!!!

I haven't seen too many Oshkosh postings so far.

I am curious who is bringing their Cozy to the event.

I would very much like to swing by and listen, , yes listen to some of the different powerplants. Especially the Subaru's and Mazdas.

Sooooooooo, who's going to Osh this year? and what kinda Cozy r ya bringing?

Later.

P.S. Yes, I am going this year, by myself, since my usual Osh buddies have to work! Pffftttt!

It's a stretch, but I have all day to get from south of Chicago to SE of Milwaukee on Friday. Me thinks a couple of hours at Osh is doable.

I'll be going to Oshkosh for the first time this year, primarily because I've decided to build a Cozy and want to see one in person.
Is there somebody who will be there with their Cozy MKIV and would let me sit in it???

Be happy to. I'll be there from Wednesday through Saturday morning. I'll be in Homebuilt Camping, about 3/4 way toward the back with Curt Smith. Look for a ratty MKIV, N83MZ. Contact me via email for a cell #.

Curt Smith....that the fella' with the one with the nice paint job?

For those who are new to Oshkosk, bring a strong tent with deep tent stakes. Osh is notorious for bringing on at least one good storm per event. Strong enough to knock over porta-potties. Just ask Mark about the takeoff roll and distance of a small dome tent.

I'm going from Thursday through Saturday this year. I had hoped to be here all week with Dani's business, but bureaucratic efficiency happened and we didn't get a spot this year.

I can attest to the amazing weather. In 2005, there were tornados the night when ground-roll tent incident happened. I clearly remember my tent trying to turn itself inside out, while our baby daughter calmly slept right through it. It took us about a day and a half to dry out the tent.

The coolness of everything else easily outweighs the occasional weather event.

First, let me say "thanks" to Dust for giving me a new password. We had major computer issues this spring and my forum pass was one of the casualties!

As Len said, we won't have a booth at OSH this year, but, if I can figure out the logistics, we'll have one next year (Not sure it'll be worth it to drive the whole set-up out from CA, maybe take pre-orders for delivery and just take orders at the show? But, hey, I have a whole year to think about that!).

I'm not too sad about not having the booth this year, though, as Mary and I will actually be able to get around and SEE things this year. Attend the hot dog roast, visit the flight line, shop! Of course, I will miss our impromptu gatherings - we enjoyed all the company and meeting all the canardians.

As much as I enjoy camping out and visiting with people in the campgrounds, we're using our "free" hotel rooms so that we can get some actual sleep at night. Last year, almost every night had a major storm, the place was a swamp by Saturday. This year, the weather will probably be perfect, just to spite me for giving up on it.

See you all there!
-Dani

PS - Oh, and be able to take a shower without constantly holding a kitchen hose for water. Not a problem for you boys (except maybe Marc) but that gets old with long hair.

Just got back from 3 days at OSH. The forums were very good, thanks to Marc for leading those and putting them together. The weather was pretty crappy most of the time, with not too many aircraft in the air and the air shows cut back. Here are a few pics for some flavor of what was there.

NOW I understand what 'blended winglets' are! VER-RY nice looking. I couldn't tell. Are the lower winglets there as well? If not, do the blended winglets make up the lack of the lowers?
