Donnknow if I'd get this one. It is anodized aluminum and the 1/16 holes will probably elongate in a short period of time, making it worthless. There are steel ones available.

Default Re: Drill sizes for everything riveted and tapped

FINALLY put a chart together for drilling everything metal on the plane

attached spreadsheet - i double checked and found the wrong numbers on the net were because a reamer was assumed.

I'm printing it and a copy at the hanger, tap box and number drill case

Code:
# 20	5/32 RIVET
# 30	1/8 RIVET
# 41	3/32 Rivet
# 51	3/16 Rivet

Bolt	Tapping
6 32	# 36
8 32	# 29
10 32	# 21
1/4 20	# 7
1/4 28	# 3
5/16 24	I
3/8 24 Q

NPT Tapping
	w/o reamer
“1/8-27” “Q”
“1/4-18” “7/16”
“3/8-18” “37/64”
“1/2- 14”	“45/64”
“3/4- 14”	"29/32"

Well, i got a complaint - no decimal sizes for those that can't read the drill, like me.

I keep 7x optivisor on hand to be able to read them

Code:
Drill	Drill Decimal	Rivets
# 20	0.161	5/32 Rivet
# 30	0.1285	1/8 Rivet
# 41	0.096	3/32 Rivet
# 51	0.067	3/16 Rivet

Tapping Bolt
# 36	0.1065	6 32
# 29	0.136	8 32
# 21	0.159	10 32
# 7	0.201	1/4 20
# 3	0.213	1/4 28
I	0.272	5/16 24
Q	0.332	3/8 24

NPT Tapping
w/o reamer
“Q”	0.332	“1/8-27”
“7/16”	0.4375	“1/4-18”
“37/64”	0.578125	“3/8-18”
“45/64”	0.703125	“1/2- 14”
"29/32"	0.90625	“3/4- 14”
