Default Rotary Engine Mounts

Rotorheads,
Thanks everyone for your help, the first MK-RX mount -OURS- is done, more to come. This one is for 13B/Renesis two rotor engines.
The bed plates will be available in two forms, ours will extend back to the redrive mounting plate for additional rigidity, the new redrive mounting plate has the starter relocated to the 9 oclock position on the cold side (away from the heat of the turbo and exhaust)
Soon we will also have the MKRX-20B version available.

Thanks, send us a request at CGparts-at-aol-dot-com and we will add you to the list.
With respect to JD, retracts are his business, support your vendors and they will support you. Truthfully, he has been through the learning curve with that gear and most of the bugs are worked out, I'd hate to be a newbee in that market. Besides, we have lots of other plans parts to introduce for canards and many nifty new things, like RX engine mounts and RX engine accessories (eventually when we know what works for us). Until then, keep building!
Regards, Chrissi

Dear T Mann,
We are waiting for a 20B plate to arrive which I will measure for manufacturing drawings and adjust to the reality of where the engine holes actually are.
Apparently CCI's idea of precision was by tape measure and tracing holes through oil pan holes. The late model 13B CCI plate I have measured actually has the engine skewed by a small amount, I confirmed this through Tracey, he said he had to rat tail several holes to fit his. We have solved this issue and as soon as the 20B plate is designed we will place the order for the 13B/Renesis and 20B plates as well as new redrive plates. We would need to know ahead of time from builders if they are wanting the side mount starter option, preferably before we begin ordering these plates. The side mount option allows the base plate to tie into the redrive plate making the installation much stronger.
I will be starting the next 13B mount this week.
Cost will be determined by volume/interest, if we order one plate it will be unobtanium, if we order 10 they will be reasonable. What is your timeline/need?
Regards, Chrissi

I'm planning well in advance for this so I have a good window to work with.
I've been talking with Bruce about a 20B but I'm sure I won't have it until end of summer or fall at the earliest. Variables such as the side mount starter are amoung key factors I want to coordinate between your operation and Bruce so I can keep everything on the same page.

The "cold side" starter mounting option was not practical for us until we figured out a little bit of magic, (people have done it but had to drill a hole in the starter, we did not like this). The advantage other than a stronger mount for the redrive is that you could potentially have a better shape to the lower cowl and its away from the hot exhaust components, might add some longevity to the starter.
We'll see if that helps much on our own cowl.
Regards, Chrissi

I'm in the pre build faze so it will be a while but, A 20B is the direction I plan to go for a power solution. I'm interested in placing the starter on the cool side of the engine provided it is practical. No plans to drill holes in the starter. At this point I have not ordered an engine as I'm on a tight budget.

I'm also interested in price for planning my installation budget.

Thanks Ken,
As soon as we have parts for sale and a final price we will publish updates to the web site and post it on here as well.
