I talked to Jim at RST last Wednesday (after four email attempts.) He stated he had been out of town and would get my kit out that day. I have not received it yet but I would expect it by today. That should be a reasonable amount of time for a priority mail package to arrive.

So I know the copper foil tape is thin and all, but...

Why not (knot) use plain (plane) old 14ga or ?? bare (bear) copper wire ?? Wire might take a bit more work to get flush with a core surface, but the surface area exposed to the glass is much less (better skin/core bond?)

Well?

thats what I used ( 14 ga solid house wire ) and it works fine but the signal strength is better over the entire band width with a wider antenna. my signal strength is well with in the useable limits.

Talked to Jim at RST today. Complained it's been a month. He was in the garage bagging up our orders as we spoke. Funny you always think of a big warehouse somewhere instead of some poor slob bagging up a bunch of orders in a garage.

Thanks Lynn. Been a loooong time since I glanced at my ARRL books... if I can still find them... or have them in a corner of the attic...

Well my package from RST arrived yesterday. Kind of slow but it is here.
I guess you can expect about a month for delivery so plan ahead.

Just to be fair to RST....

Last year, I ordered one of their base station antenna kits for my scanner.

I think i receive it in under a week. I finally built it a couple months ago and have to same I'm impressed with the reception.

I ordered the RST antenna kit at the same time as the Cozy plans, so I should be fine.

Well worth the wait too. Jim put in a ton of information that in itself is worth the price of the whole package. Very complete!
