Default Light speed Stress relieving electrical joints/NOT

my buddy just replaced his lightspeeds cause the wire broke internally - cause the stress relieving is just a case extension, it is way too stiff to spread the bending load.

the new one came today

Same problem

If you don't stress relieve your wire connections - the same will happen to you and - i suggest you put some tape on those new lightspeeds - cause if you don't - they will break and lightspeed will give you a 50% price reduction to replace them!

lightspeed ANR headsets have wires coming out of a small box. there is a STIFF wire support, supposedly to relieve stress at the connection.

Only it is STIFF and not flexible

the wires break internally where the support ends, this time he taped it so as to make an inch area bend, not just the spot where the wires exit the STIFF support.

Important to understand relieving electrical connections or your wires will break. Not even the manufacturers understand it!

ALL the wires in the plane, every connection

I can see how these would work great when flying around in a CRJ or my new Cessna Citation X but how well do they work in our noisy planes?

The NRR is ~29dB with the foam inserts. That's a damn sight better than any conventional headset, and bests most ANR kits (except souped up DC retrofits) in the low rumble area that drives most nuts. If you look at the actual data (which I can't share) the attenuation is MUCH greater as the frequency of interest increases, over 60dB at some points. I have a few ultralight hours with one...it's like the Rotax isn't even there.
