Materials for chapter 5 will arrive this Wednesday so I will mess it up a little this weekend. My intention though is to keep the shop as clean as possible throughout the build.

Chapter 5 started yesterday. Today I cut and started to glue up the foam for the sides.

Any words of wisdom before I carve and glass up the sides is welcome.

Note - where the plans give measurements for the side every few inches in HUNDREDTHS of an inch - don't forget the word that is also there - typical - ca,'t measure and cut this stuff to hundredths

My plans (Long-EZ) don't show hundredths, just tenths of an inch for the fuselage sides. I will add a zero to the plans and make sure I cut to the hundredth. Thanks.

Are you refering to the full size plans? The Long-EZ uses A drawings.

Hmmmmm starting to fell a little out of place seeing as I am not building a COZY.

look at them and see if you can line them up and get a side view of the plane.
i used a 6 foot long 3/16 SS rod (elevator) and bent it across all the marks i put on the side then traced along it, worked like a charm
