Nick U's trying to get some building demo things together. He asked for suggestions. Anyone interested in the basics? Say, how to do a layup? Or different tricks like using plastic over peel ply, how much micro, using a Fein (I don't), etc? Sounds real basic to most of us but I remember this stuff like that being all Greek to me.

The device works by injecting air at a known pressure into the cylinder with the valves closed. (TDC). The first gauge (or second depending on your point of view, reads line pressure. The air is injected into the cylinder through a plug hole, and the second measures the actual pressure in the cylinder (line minus leakage around rings and valves (cracks etc). There is obviously a way of separating reading of the line pressure from cylinder pressure.

Therefore we get a two number reading ie 80/70. 80 is the line pressure, 70 is the pressure left in the cylinder. Some mechanics also measure the compression at the bottom of the stroke.

Yes, I am very interested in some basic demonstrations. I think that this would help us "not yet" builders gain some understanding of what's ahead.

Nick U's update
Quote:
All,

I have volunteers bringing a LCD Projector, Screen, Computer and
wireless mike for presentations or just general usage. I have filled
the presentation schedule (2 hrs) we are almost complete on equipment.

One last item. I need someone who can bring an amplifier/speakers (or
a boom type box) which can accept the 1/8" male input plug of the
wireless mike. The mic plug is Mono, but I dont think it will make
any difference.

An amp will certainly help those who decided to attend presentations
hear better while Ryzard busily buzzes the field with a big smile on
his face... :-D We can also have some music during lunch!

Thanks again. Everything has really come together well!

Nick

I have a couple of pretty kick ass projectors:

NEC HT-1000 (brighter than the sun)
Sony VPL-VW100HD (High def)

I can bring either.

I will also see if I can do something about a speaker/amp. Will update when I get more info.

I can bring my DJ equipment along with wireless mic and plenty of good music of all genre's. I'll be arriving Friday evening around 6:00 p.m. Let me know if that's too late. Looking forward to meeting everyone in person.

I will volunteer my MOOSE LODGE membership to bring in guests after DJ music. The Moose Lodge is about a half mile down the road toward Pine Tree motel. They have poker and liquid refreshment and even have a pool table. Maybe we can set the DJ equipment there in the lodge. Its pretty big.

OK, john and Aiman - just talked to ugolini and informed him of your gracious offers - good to go!!!

On the set up of the mic, it must be set up in the tent/canopy at the airport cause that is where the presentations will be made

On the projector - bring the one that is bright as the sun cause the presentations will be during the day under the tent/canopy

he mentioned someone to bring a sheet!!!, any ideas on what to bring to project on

To all - bring extension cords, we do knot know where the tent will be set up at the airport, so we do knot know how long we have to run power

Life is good

HT1000, check. I don't have a portable screen, unfortunately, so someone needs to bring some sort of screen. (sheets do not work well, because they bleed a lot of backlight into the image)

I think I have a 25' grounded edison extension for it, but that's all. I also have a 75' VGA cable which I will also bring. DVD player? (if anyone wants to bring the Rutan tribute DVD or anything else...

Ok. My list so far:
Cups
Chips/Doritos/etc
Laptop
Presentation projector (HT1000)
25' power cable
75' VGA cable
DVD player & cable

Just remember, I am leaving KROC at 5pm Friday, and unfortunately driving down, so I hope all the events that I am bringing stuff down for are all saturday! I fear that I will be there after midnight.
