Done it in a Cessna for about 100 miles. It scares the hell out of you when you wake up. Thankfully the pilot had the intercom off so he didnt wake up when I was cursing myself for falling asleep. (I told him I would watch the plane so he could take a nap, he had been up all night.)

Scares me enough in a car for a split second! I'm assuming the only thing you need to worry about in autopilot is a midair collision or passing your destination?

Or flying right through a TFR, ADIZ, through an airports airspace, ATC wanting you, missing a course deviation, flying into IMC, etc. Just think of all the things you have to do even when the plane is on autopilot.
