Default Student Pilot & hopeful canard builder

Hello everyone.

My name is Ed, I'm a student pilot, and I'd like to one day build my own canard aircraft. Current thought is building a Cozy MkIV, but feel free to convince me of a different type of plane. ;-)

Glad to be part of this community!

I am a new bulder... I have wanted to build for about 8 years... even puchased plans for another model. Visited some builders, went to some fly-ins, and paid attention to newsgroup/discussiongroups like this one for a long period of time.

Based on a lot of things, it was the Cozy Mark IV that I settled with. The reasons are many. The reasons for not going with other designs are also many. In my view, my -personal- choice for the Cozy Mark IV was such an easy decision when compared to the alternatives.

I am going to try not to build each part four times.... the goal is one Cozy, however if I end up with four, there will be no complaining from me.

Default I have the plans!

Well, I bought the plans from a local person that is getting out of his build. I now own serial # 1032 (rev 3, circa 2002). I guess you can say I'm on Chapter 0 or 1. ;-)

First item for me is to get the workshop in order so I have somewhere to build. And to get moving on my PPL. That should keep me busy for a bit, and then I can start buying the build supplies. I have already started accumulating some of the tools.
