![]() Well, these planes have been flyin for over 30 years
Many improvement have been made When i got into this endeavor i figured - hey, we all share info, the plane progresses. NOT THE CASE. The improvements, if publicized fall into oblivion. A shame Look at the great increase in Safety that Jim Price came up with 13 or so years ago. Substantial decrease in landing speed which really helps in an off field landing, not a standard on the planes. Only a few have adopted them. Talked to an old time Vari Driver that built a bigger canard, because of all the crashes he inspected in the early days, when he built his next plane he put a keel in it from front to back to get rid of the losing your legs problem in these planes. Does anyone know about this? The list goes on and on. The internet Gurus squash all advances. I guess the only way for improvement to become standard is if someone sells new plans and probably gets Burt to bless them. It really is a shame, increased performance and more importantly safety is not just allowed to disappear, but it is actively pushed there. Flying examples have not done it.
