Default SQ2000 build time

Hey Paul - 2.5 years to build, with a rotary and you are flying

So tell us - how many hours on a typical week did you build, everyone wants to know

Oh yeah, we have 2 members here that are sq2000 named paul - is that required, did you have to change your name to paul to buy the kit?

Hi, Dust...Typically I would spend 2 or 3 evenings a week working on it, working 3 or 4 hours each session. Of course, there were times when I only did 20 minutes laying up a piece, then the next day 5 hours installing it. Ocasionally, I would work for 7 or 8 hours on a weekend. I think the average, however was about 40 hours per month, for 30 months = 1200 hours. Once the engine was running and I could taxi it, I managed to find more time to work on it, as I could see the light at the end of the tunnel.
Yes, I did have to change my name to Paul in order to get the SQ2000...I used to be referred to as just Krazy. Paul Conner

Welllll then, there you have it - lots of mods, rotary engine and only 1200 hours build time - I am very impressed.

how would you characterize the plane versus the long EZ
