Sounds like a job for a Fien sander! I have one you can borrow, but I have to come with it!!!
When is Plane Day? I may just have come up to keep my slave status active.

Plane day - three showed up yesterday, what do you know, just the three builders, first time that has happened in a while, heh heh heh

got a lot done, just doesn't look like it.

cut canopies loose from the planes, built frames to hold in alignment during inside work.

glassed the inside turtledeck to the fuselage and the firewall and the spar on a plane, other will follow next week.

Looked better when we started than when we finished, just did more plane stuff, one sentence at a time.

Plane day is this sunday, more glassing, more forming, more plane fun

Boring, boring, same as last week, next plane. but of course i made a dumb little mistake, had all the measurments for all of the tapes on the bench from last week, on two of the tapes, read 28" made them 24"

stupid
stupid
stupid

lucky this is fiberglass, ifin it was aluminum, i would have to scrap two pieces, this way, took a scrap and extended the tapes

hey thats one diference, in aluminum you can turn a part into scrap pretty easily, in foam fiberglass you turn scrap into parts all the time.

Plane day - dave, tom, thane, mike, mike, matt.

inside hard point on upper firewall to spar and canopy. Install foam between upper and lower firewall and plywood inserts between upper and lower firewall.

All went well until we discovered that we were running out of bid, - need another 40 yards, keep miscalculating, the last time we ordered, i think that because the turtle decks were made, did not look at that chapter for needed glass, mistake, more bid being ordered tomorrow, not to worry, we did have a yard left over at the end of the day.

Fuel tank saga, 1 out of 4 is leaking, not happy, will continue trying to find leek next plane day

Default MOVING DAY!!!

It's official now. In coincidence with the Christmas holiday, this Sunday is moving day!!! The new shop took three times the estimated time and money to build, but its completed enough to move into and finish/start buildingairplanes . I'll hang the interior doors and finish the bathroom within the next few weeks at my leisure. Then cabinets, shelving,, work benches,,,break room,,,,floor covering,,,,,window treatments,,,,,,and,,,,,,,,ok, I think i'll stop at window treatments! I'll post some pics of the big move next week. I'm figuring the move will take up most of the day empting out the garage and basement, so probably no actual work on the planes will take place this week.

Oh well... at least it was warmer that yesterday by about 15*F We started at about 9:30, had a short break for lunch, then finished up the move by 3:00, closed the doors and started the furnace back up Got back into building airplanes and built some shelves. Dust will build a work table and Mr. LeFluer will build a lay-up table so he can start his plane and stop working on ours!!! We ARE spoiled rotten

I don't like to clutter up the board with little messages like this cause I'd rather see the significant stuff, like what you guys posted. But way cool, go team Michigan!
