You should have that kit any day now.

I see that Russell Duffy just got his RV-8 flying.

Dave, isn't your wife kind of let down now that you have another few years to fly again? Hmmm, maybe she'll help this time?

I am still awaiting my RV-10 kit. The "estimated" ship date was set at 11/10/06 by Vans. Robin is VERY excited about the new kit and stated that she would like to learn riveting, ect, to help out.

This thread has been pure too long. Dave, would you be inclined to make another Renesis motor mount?

I wish I had the time to. Not too long ago on the flyrotary list, another rotary builder took it up the #*% by Conversion Concepts. He lost his deposit money and time waiting for a vapor mount. I'm hoping the Cozy Girrls fill the void. The market is small but the need is there. Besides,,,I think that they have WAY too much free time!

how 'universal' are engine mounts? if one were interested in a Renesis mount but for an RV or another experimental would the Cozy Girrl's mount work without much adaption?

thanks

John

No. The mount for RV's is a different animal than the EZ type pusher mounts. For the rotary, about the only thing universal would be the mounting plate and the isolation mounts,,,everything else will need to be custom fabricated for the RV. I plan to tackle that animal when the time comes.

thanks for the info...

I can only say ....

DRAT... [sorry for the language]...

seems every engine option has some form of serious compromise. I guess that is why there isn't a singular 'winner'.

Default It's Here!!

I took deliver of the empennage/tail cone and wing kit for the RV-10. Came in four VERY heavy crates! The driver was a decent guy and gave me a hand unloading the crates off the semi and into the shop(i had no available help). Opened box one and found the builders manual and plans. Everything appears to be in good shape. Vans gives you 30 days to uncrate and check your order for any discrepencies. Another $800 in tools also arrived UPS. I only have a few more to get and i'll be ready to go!

Way Kwel...

Canards are too but there is a reason why both do so well with the experimental community....

How did you know which crate to open? Were they labeled or are you simply one with the force?

keep us posted on your progress...

Don't look so serious when flying there Ray. People might think you are hating every minute of it

Ya’. That’s actually my friend flying his RV. He flies it an average of 1.5 hrs per day, so I’m giving his complacent demure a pass.

My left knee is the only thing visible in the shot, but if I panned back a little further you would have seen how happy I was!
