GREAT PICS Bob.

And what does a builder who is obsessed about water leakage notice, another plane that had all joints and gaps taped, this one with blue tape, noticed a different one at RR with what looked like masking tape.

forming drainage channels at every possible leaking place

Unhappy Office View

Just thought I would share the view from my window this week. This may be the last time we see a bird out at Pad 39B. After launch I will probably be moved into the dungeon (Vehicle Assembly Building, no windows in there). Don.

Thanks for your reply Dennis. Yes I will have no window view but the VAB is really close to the cafeteria. Some consolation huh. Pad B is 4.8mi away from the rest of the building complexes. I really didn't deserve the beautiful view I had out here for the last three years, but I am glad to have enjoyed it at all. We may get a bit of areprieve due to the Hubble mission Back up requirement for another Bird at the ready. Hubble mission not going to the ISS only gives Shuttle time in orbit of max 21days. We need two Pads up for this. Hubble mission will Launch from Pad A and we'll have the (LON) Launch on Need bird at Pad B.
I'm working on a Long EZ, Nose almost finished figuring on the Lighting arrangement. Zenon? I skipped a few chapters. I really need to cut my Canard and get that done and order a tinted canopy (have Clear now). I noticed that Todd's site was not available last week? Anyone know if he still making canopies? Later, Don.
P.S. If you look real close you can see that the Vehicle is not all the way out yet. Still a few hundred feet to go. Look at the posts that have a walk platform around them. those are the posts that the MLP will sit on as the Crawler will lower itself and back out.

Thanks for your update, very good! BTW, I can really reccomend Todds tinted canopy-I bought one this last summer and the tint is just right...I cannot see it being a problem for night flight and yet it looks to be enough for daytime. I asked for him to send me a sample of his tinted canopy and out came a 4x6 piece by post, which I approved and I must say the tint looked even better when I received the canopy in person. I think you will like it!

I'm jealous Don... I've always wanted to see a shuttle launch and I'm sure you have seen more than your fair share

Yes, I spoke to him last week. Todd's still very much in business. He's having some problems with his hosting vendor and the main site index is unavailable. You can get to part of his site at http://toddscanopies.com/tdmain.htm and the other part at http://toddscanopies.com/tdmenu.htm

Yes JonC it's been a real experience especially the Night Launches which the next one should be. Also we used to stand outside by the VAB and the Sound reverberations against the building are really amazing kind of eerie really, the whole thing is pinging from the harmonics.
John S. and Dennis Thanks for the update on Todd and your recommendations.
Don.
