![]() Hello from Denmark everyone,
I'm considering building a true 'classic' AKA the Long-Eze (Guess that should that be 'Open-Eze' - not to offend anyone?) I have acquired both the TERF CDs and the required templates. So far - so good. But availability of bits and pieces noteably hardware for the Long seems to be slowly but steadily declining, whereas parts for the various Cozies are far more plentiful... Apart from the obvious suggestion to go for a Cozy... my question is this: Have anybody gone through the effort of listing what Cozy parts are interchangeable with Long-Eze parts? A cross reference would be very useful. By looking at amo the CozyGirrrls page some suggestions can be had, but if somebody has already plunged into an 'organized investigation' and are willing to share their knowledge, I would much rather spend the time ordering parts... BTW: Are there any Europeans out there still building the Long?

![]() I'm currently building a Long-EZ. Don't worry about the hardware problem. There are fabricators out there that can supply the items you need for your build.
I'm currently finishing chapter 6 so if a problem with parts does arrive, I'll run into it before you. The worst case is you may have to have someone weld up a couple parts to your specifications. By the way .......... Long-EZ (Open-EZ) ......... excellent choice! ![]()

![]() TMann-
Are you going to 'Berkut' the nose of that L.E bird you are building? Theres a nice plan on ezesquadron I saw for doing that. You probably have your project all figured out, so nose lengthening/shaping/suggesting isn't something new to you. Seems very cool though. To me anyway. Yea, Longs are very cool...that fighter style edge will never dull, in my book! ![]() That longer rounder nose that R Riley came up with on the Berkut absolutely is 'trick'. Or in verbage around here, sssssnnnarrky!! ![]()

I guess the other problem you will have is that there are no active sellers of the LongEZ. That's too bad because it is still a heck of plane.

Wicks Aircraft still packages the kit. Aircraft Spruce also sells all of the items you will need. Be sure and price check between the two for the best deal. Today I found a piece of foam I needed to order. The difference in price was $63.00 vs. $115.00 ...... for the same exact item. Last week a piece of foam I ordered favored the opposite vendor ....... so be sure and price shop!

![]() Thanks for the vote of confidence Nathan =)
We've been working through the Cozy with the intent to provide all of the things to keep the builders moving along on their projects. Items so far not in production are not work stoppers if you do not have them. They will all come eventually. We are beginning to look at Long-ez/Open-ez hardware as well because we think there will always be a market for some form of tandem canard if there were hardware available to build one. So far I cannot think of anything for the Long-Ez that is either not available in the form of a Cozy part that is probably identicle or better and the remaining parts are things easily made by hand. Parts for the landing brake and nose gear are not in production because electric alternatives are available. We do already make all of the welded items needed for the Long-ez. Regards, Chrissi

Do you have the mounting plugs that are floxed into the wing when installing the baggage pods? Somebody asked me about these a couple weeks ago. Waiter
