Default Used engine

Well, my buddy, the a&P/DAR/IA accident investigator, every 6 months for years has asked me if i pulled the heads and i have said no, the engine only has 600 hours on it.

I thought he was going senile, he asked AGAIN today.

I gave him the same answer, he told me off. He strongly feels that i should pull the heads and inspect it all, bore scoping it just ain't good enough. He is not going senile, just never liked my answer. He is going soft not senile. In years past he would have done years ago what he did today.

Well, i always take advice from those i respect. After all the welding is done, just before i take the engine to the hanger to hang it on the plane.

All will be pulled and inspected and measured. how do you spell mic'd? mik'd? micrometered. end of discussion

It's mic'd. There's more than a micrometer to do what what you need. Get your A&P to help. Check valves, cylinders, everything. Maybe a dye penetrant kit (about $75).

Yep, first thing i did was call my a&p to make arrangements with it.

Although i don't need an A&P legally, I am a chicken and use one antway. Don't do anything that i don't fell 110% positive of, just the way that i am
