You're a police officer. That makes you a common statistic for divorce. You're an attorney which puts you in a great place for this issue. I'm sure there's a coleague or two who owes you a favor. Wow! I see a #1 best seller coming! Hang in there Chris, in a simple term, it's only just stuff.

Maybe I have a bit of sadistic bent humor but we should start a new survey. How many canardians have divorced mid-build, before the build which makes for new freedom to build, or after the build? We had a fella' last year we dragged away to RR to take his mind off it. I believe (at least he showed it) he had a great time. I suppose everything is winding down by now and he's finally looking for a place to start building. Personally, I never could have started mine if I was still married.

I know Dust sorry.

Anyone new to this there's the web.

www.roughriver.org

The fella' who puts this on every year is Sam Chambers.

SCHAMBER@GLASGOW-KY.COM

Rough River fly-in is a laid back weekend of canardians and canardians to be and wannabees. There's no vendors, no circus acts or clowns (except us), no entertainment (except good conversation), no charities, no tents (except lunch). Anything there is voluntary for small demos or food. Some people sell their spare parts, home made parts, etc. from their trunk or airplane. Sam started it years ago as the most laid back fly-in you'll be at all year and its been great ever since. I think that's the reason we keep coming back. No distractions, no stress. If you need entertainment for the kids there's plenty of things within short driving distance. Otherwise the "no frills" get together is the sweetest part of the whole weekend. Reminds me when my dad used to take me to the local airport just to sit on the hood of the car and watch the planes take off. Nothing more but it was enough.

Good job on the canopy

Will someone need to bring a tub of coffee? An egg/two for Swedish egg coffee?

Coffee? What's that?

What happened to the banner we were going to have made with the $100?

I'm writing this by Dust's request (he's flying right now). There is NO CHARGE for lunch on Saturday. We put a jar out last year if you wanted to help pay for the expenses and we accumulated $100. Last year's funds are helping this year's food. We are short of some voluntary items and we ask that you look at the Wiki.

Nick Ugolini is not a member of this forum so I'm posting this from the email lists. Thanks Nick.

Hi All

I am setting up a schedule of events at Rough River to make this
year's gathering even better than the great fly-in's we have had in
the past.

A large tent and picnic tables has been arranged (thanks Sam) and will
be set up close to the terminal for the general gathering and for the
Saturday lunch. The tent has now been reserved for all future CSA
fly-ins!

Here is what I came up with.

There has been a great deal of interest in the impromptu presentations
given by builders in past years. Chrissi gave one on low-vac vacuum
bagging, and last year I gave one on making your own joy stick. Mine
had a great turnout, but there was just not enough room for everyone
who was interested.

>From 9-11 am the RR lodge conference room has been reserved on
Saturday for general presentations. This year I plan to make another
presentation to discuss wire labeling at 9:30 am. How to make wire
labels bulletproof and will last the life of the plane for almost
nothing. Techniques for plane wiring.

IF you wish to make a presentation on any subject (drag, building,
painting, etc), just let me know and I'll schedule you a time (let me
know if you'll need any presentation equipment).

At 11 am there will be a "Swap and Shop" gathering at the tent. If
you have any
"stuff" which is plane related gathering dust in your hanger, bring it
with you. Someone will want it. No Ginsu steak knives or cooking
pan sales allowed! Man I hate that at OSH. If you are a vendor
(Chrissi, Jack, Ken, Steve, ?) bring it on. Lets keep the business in
our group.

At 12 noon Dust will be hosting another terrific luncheon at the tent.
We are looking for volunteers to help with setup, serving, cleanup,
etc., to relieve the few of some of the effort for serving so many.

The cost of the luncheon is a modest $5 OR you can bring something to
share (food, drinks, ice, etc). Please check out:

http://canardaviationwiki.dmt.net/wi...Current_events

This site has been set up to help coordinate what people are bringing
to the luncheon, and other things such as those needing rides to RR,
bringing tools to demonstrate, etc.

Lastly, Sunday morning, donuts, coffee, bagels, etc., will be provided
at the airport using the excess funds we collect from the luncheon.
Great for those who just want a snack before they fly out.

After I hear back from the anyone interested in giving presentations,
wishing to add to the event schedule (flying to another airport,
giving rides, shopping trips into town for the GIB, gathering as
cabins, ladies meetings, etc) I'll publish an updated list of events
for everyone.

See everyone in a few weeks.

Nick
