Default Completed my PPL

Hi,

Just a short note:
- I completed my PPL training on last week and passed the check ride with no errors / bad comments on the license application. The pile of papers went to CAA of Finland on Monday. Some bureaucracy gears will rotate there and then in two weeks or so I should have a brand new JAR/JAA-PPL(A) license (with Night VFR (NF) and RT/E (=English radio communications)). How it feels like now? Well, about nothing, it wasn't that hard after all. Damned thing is that now the Diamond (OH-FDA) is broken and in pieces when I was just about to start to have some fun with it.

Now I can start looking for the next step. Should it be a little step for FAA-PPL-conversion with maybe FAA-IR later or should I just go the traditional route with ATPL (in here getting IR one has to go the ATPL route unfortunately, since nothing else is available, and it costs a *lot*, and there has to be some subsequent professional intentions to make it a investment that is not just a huge pile of lost money and besides of that, the ATPL training is pretty demanding I hear). Hmm.

Best Wishes,
Karoliina

Congratulations Karoliina!

Can't advice you on the ATPL thing, it sure is a lot of money.
So, the point in an FAA conversion for you, is to be able to get an IR license easier/cheaper?

Thanks everybody!

Dust: The aircraft I was supposed to start flying with (the Diamond DA-40), crashed recently. There is no replacement so far except the not so inspiring C152 and C172... Well, I recently flew a school flight to Sweden with the C152, it is kind of usable plane too even for traveling, although it is a bit extreme if convenience counts any... Had to plan for refueling stops in between since the endurance is so ridiculously short that even my LSA plane wins it.
